New York | Orthopedic Trauma and Total Joint Focus
Position Overview:
Seeking an experienced Orthopedic Surgeon to provide locum coverage at a Level III Trauma Center. The role emphasizes trauma cases and elective total joint replacements for a long-term assignment.
Assignment Details:
- Location: New York
- Start Date: Immediate
- Duration: Up to 12 months
- Schedule:
- Monday–Friday: 8 AM–5 PM, with late afternoon add-ons as needed.
- Possible weekend rounding and patient call (not ED call for weekend OR).
- On-call: Rotating weekday ED trauma coverage and potential non-ED weekend patient/floor call.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a range of orthopedic trauma cases and elective total knee/hip replacements.
- Perform fracture surgeries and bread-and-butter orthopedic trauma procedures.
- Split duties between the orthopedic clinic and operating room (estimated 50/50 split).
Requirements:
- Fellowship: Trauma or joints fellowship preferred but not required.
- Board Status: Board Certified or Board Eligible.
- Licensure: Active state license or ability to obtain one promptly.
- Independent practice experience preferred.

- Support Staff: Mid-level providers available (locum not responsible for supervision).
- EMR System: Epic.
