Position Overview:
We are seeking a board-certified/board-eligible Medical Oncologist/Hematologist with fellowship training to join our team on an immediate basis. This role supports a busy hospital and clinic practice in Grand Junction, CO, addressing current staffing needs due to providers on FMLA and a reduction in FTE.
Assignment Details:
- Location: Colorado
- Start Date: ASAP
- Duration: Ongoing assignment
- Schedule:
- Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM
- Combined hospital rounding and clinic visits (with a shortened clinic schedule)
- Call: Rotational call, approximately 1 in 4 nights with an average of 2–3 calls per night
- Volume: Approximately 12–16 patients per day
- Practice Setting: Hospital and clinic, focusing on adult and geriatric patients
- EMR: Epic
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive Medical Oncology/Hematology care, including prescribing chemotherapy and overseeing inpatient services with support from APPs and Nurse Navigation.
- Conduct hospital rounds and clinic visits efficiently within a dynamic practice.
- Manage call responsibilities as part of a structured 1:4 rotational schedule.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care.
Requirements:
- Board Certification/Eligibility: Required
- Fellowship: Required in Medical Oncology/Hematology
- Certifications: BLS required
- Licensure: Must be willing to obtain a Colorado license if not currently licensed
- Credentialing: Expedited privileges available; estimated timeline as little as 30 days
Additional Information:
- This opportunity may be offered to multiple providers as needed.
- No supervisory responsibilities for other providers.
- Direct flights into Grand Junction are available from major hubs including Denver, Salt Lake City, Phoenix, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Dallas, and Orange County-Santa Ana.
