Anesthesiologist Locum Opportunity
New York | Bread & Butter Surgical Cases with Call Requirements
Position Overview:
Seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Anesthesiologist for a critical locum need to support surgical cases and OB. This ongoing opportunity offers flexibility for 2 consecutive weeks per month.
Details:
- Start Date: ASAP, upon credentialing
- Schedule:
- Monday–Friday: 7 AM–3:30 PM

- 24-hour call is mandatory (must be within 15 minutes of the facility).
- Call pattern includes first and second call rotation.
Responsibilities:
- Cover bread-and-butter surgical cases; primary volume includes ortho and general surgery.
- Handle OB cases, including labor and delivery.
- Participate in regional blocks for OR cases.
- Assignments directed by the Chief or Acting Chief.
Case Load & Facility Information:
- Daily Case Volume: 4-5 cases per day.
- Annual Deliveries: Approximately 700-800.
- Trauma Level III with ACS.
- EMR System: EPIC.
- Support Staff: CRNAs (2), anesthesia techs, OR techs, nurses, and PAs.
Requirements:
- Board Certification or Eligibility required.
- Fellowship not required.
- Experience in OB/Gyn, ortho, general surgery, vascular, ENT, and GI preferred.
- Must be willing to take 24-hour call.
Additional Information:
- Temporary privileges available for clean files with no malpractice or work gaps.
- Credentialing typically takes ~90 days.
